Now, more traditional industries, including media, healthcare and finance, are recognizing this modern work style’s appeal: serendipitous encounters, community, the free exchange of advice/ideas and shared purpose.

Coworking: More Than Just a Fad

Even though we have designed coworking spaces in many shapes, uses and sizes for several years, like many others, I’ve kept thinking the fad would eventually end: the novelty would wear off, and we’d have flooded the market with a lot of spaces that remind us of the pre-1999 dot com era landscape.

HanaHaus Creates a New Stage of Work for the Creative Economy

Up and down the proverbially sunny University Avenue in Palo Alto, California, work takes place in unconventional ways and places: at cafés and restaurants, on go-to-meetings taken on smart phones. Palo Alto teems with the flexible but no less intensive work styles integral to the creative economy. And these work styles now threaten to disrupt traditional economic sectors.
