Following the rapid growth of cloud computing, the term “big data” has achieved peak media attention. It has also surfaced in a number of recent conversations with Gensler’s tech clients, and so it behooves us as architects to understand the meaning and implications of Big Data for our business, our clients, and the spaces we design for them.

They say that you spend one-third of your life at work, one-third of your life sleeping, and one-third of your life doing everything else, including getting ready and traveling to and from your job. So, this begs the question, if you spend more waking hours at work then at home, wouldn’t it be nice if you liked being at work more than home?
Imagine if you were forced to work in the same environment someone might have worked in 200 years ago?
